Bandsaw, Drill Press & Vertical Panel Saw- Safety, Operation, & Basic Use

Safety and basic use of general power tools for wood, metals, and plastics.

Description

This class covers operational safety and protocol when working with traditional fabrication equipment. Users learn:

  • How to safely start-up and shut down the equipment
  • A brief overview of proper technique
  • Safe interaction with the equipment
  • Common operational mistakes/errors
  • How to exercise best practice when cutting complex shapes

This is not material specific, but rather how this equipment can be leveraged to support the other shop tools.

**Please Note: For the safety of our users, we are currently limiting workshop access and prioritizing trainings for residents and employees with business-critical fabrication needs. We are also requiring all safety and machine specific trainings to be renewed in order to gain workshop access. You will not be able to register for this training unless you have been approved for workshop access and have renewed the required pre-requisites.
