In this introductory class, participants will receive fundamental training in utilizing the WASP extruder alongside an ABB robot for 3D printing applications, with a focus on clay as the primary printing material. Through hands-on instruction, attendees will learn the basics of operating the equipment, including setup, printing techniques, and basic maintenance tasks tailored specifically to clay-based printing. By the end of the course, participants will have acquired essential skills to leverage the WASP extruder and ABB robot for clay-based additive manufacturing projects, enabling them to transform their digital designs into tangible creations with precision and creativity.
Materials:
The WASP extruder at Pier9 is dedicated to clay-based printing, offering participants an opportunity to delve into the sustainable and innovative aspects of this material. As participants advance, they will have the chance to explore other compatible materials, enriching their understanding of additive manufacturing's potential in forward-thinking applications.
Audience:
This course is suitable for individuals with proficiency in robotic safety and the operation of ABB robots, as well as basic knowledge of 3D modeling.
