Manual Mill - Safety, Operation, & Basic Use
Learn to use the manual mill to cut and shape metal and plastic.
Description

The manual mill is used to precisely cut and shape blocks of material, drill and cut slots, grooves, and pockets, as well as chamfer/fillet edges and create counterbores. You will gain hands-on-experience in changing end mills, using the coordinate system, both manual dials and digital readout system. Students will face a part and then use an edge finder to precisely cut a groove a certain distance from an edge. Basic techniques on secure workholding for accurate milling will be covered.
