ShopBot CNC Router - Safety, Operation, & Basic Use (Boston)

An introduction to operating the ShopBot CNC Router.

This class covers how to safely use the ShopBot CNC router to create objects from 2D drawings or 3D solid models. Students will receive firsthand experience in setting up stock, determining toolpaths, and running programs. After this class, students will be able to fabricate objects, signs, and simple furniture in wood. 

Materials: Solid wood, plywood, composite boards such as MDF, OSB and duraboard, and some plastics. 

Audience: This is a safety and basic use class suitable for shop users of all levels of experience and is a good starting point to gain experience in CNC machining.
